Been following your 931 restoration and I'm very impressed with it!! I've loved this red 944 and its stuck with me through all of my lifes ups and downs in the last four years. It's been a tough four years but I'm still hanging in there.

Did you only replace the 3 primary light tunnel bulbs with LED variants? Simply plug and play? Believe those 3 were originally spec'd as 3.0 W incandescent bulbs...which replacement parts did you end up using? Does the dash rheostat/dimmer still function with the LEDs? Were your photos taken at full dim, full bright, or somewhere in between?

I did replace the the three primary light tunnel bulbs only. The rheostat dimmer dims the lights perfectly. They were plug and play replacements from www.superbrightleds.com. they were the medium brightness bulbs. I'll look for my invoice to see exactly what I ordered and post it up. They work wonderfully! The photos were taken at full brightness.

Haven't had a ton of time recently to work on the car. Ordered a few more parts in anticipation for getting things finished on the car. Cam tower sprung a nast leak, pissing, in a tiny stream, oil onto the exhaust manifold. Almost like it has a pin hole. So that will need to be addressed right away. Glad it happened at home instead of out on the road.

The next thing I have to do is get a new wiper transmission and motor assembly. I've been on various projects and I'll need those parts to keep this one rolling.

The car has been sitting unfortunately but before the snow flies this year, I'm going to drive this car reliably! I took on a Corvette to restore and it was my first that I bought back after being apart from the car for 11 years. So unfortunately this car took a back seat for the last several months. But its been on my mind to get it back into the garage and get started on the car so I can enjoy it again! So I spent more money on more parts to motivate myself to get the car done so i can enjoy it.

Took a couple pictures of the car the other day as well. They motivate me honestly. Even though the car's paint is bad, people that see that car that come to the house seem to really like the car. Flattering really, and a testament to how beautiful these cars were then and still are today!

Paint is oxidized, but Guards Red is single stage, so a fair amount of time spent with a DA and cutting/polishing compounds may reveal some fairly nice paint still remaining!

There are some areas of the paint that have been damaged by water and show white marking in the paint. The damage was due to it sitting outside with a cover on the car. Most of the paint does come back once its buffed. When I first buffed it in 2013, it looked amazing. 7 years without doing so has taken its toll. I'd like to repaint the car once I'm finished with it mechanically. I've been continually collecting parts for its restoration. Really looking forward to pulling it in and getting started on it!

The new tires came in and I'm excited to get them on. The ones that are on there now are very old and flat spotted. The new tires are phase one and will be done on Monday. I'll do two today and two on Monday! I'll also repaint my lug nuts today before I install the wheels back on the car. Pics to follow!

I went with Hancook Optimo's. They were extremely reasonable and they mounted nicely. I think they will give the car a great ride. I got two of them mounted yesterday and will mount and balance the other two in the next day or so.

Last night, I got the front of the engine mostly apart, except for the water pump, which I will do today. Its more than due for belts, rollers, tensioner, and seals. I also removed the cam box to install a new gasket against the head as it was leaking badly. I also have a rear gasket for it as well. While its apart, I'm going to replace the seals on the injectors as well as the fuel line on the rail. The larger Iines will be replaced shortly after. I really enjoyed working on the car yesterday and it felt good to get something accomplished on the car as its been sitting for quite some time. To be honest, I only parked the car because I knew it needed bts, rollers, seals, and a water pump. I figured it would be best to park it until I got all of the parts and then tear into it. Only took me 5 years to get motivated and clear my other projects to make room and time for this car. Really looking forward to getting the car back on the road! More pictures to follow as I continue to work on the car!

Yesterday I cleaned and resealed the cam box, replaced the water pump, and installed the freshly cleaned and resealed cam box with. New gasket. I ordered a few small parts that I find that I'm needing but did not initially think to order. I also found that one of the timing belt idler bearings was completely seized. I got very lucky that the timing belt did not come apart. More pictures to follow on that as well! Ordered a new power steering tensioner as the current one was connled together and not correct for the car. Excited to continue to move forward, even if I only get to work inthe car for a couple hours at a time.
