I posted this in the wheels forums but didnt get a response . Lol so here it is: how much could i get for my 15'' (i think) fuchs? They are from a 83 944 and from wut i know have never been used and are in perfect condition. Also wut kind of tires came stock on 83' 944's? jw if they have stock rubber on them. Any help is appricieted and also....im thinkin about selling them to get some 18'' turbo twists so if anyone is interested...luckly i got some 16'' centerlines to hold me over till i get those....

The 83 944 came stock with P215-60/15 tires, most likely on 15X7 wheels. Prices seem all over the place for Fuchs ($50 - $200 each depending on size, condition, etc. It seems to me 15" are less desirable now as most people upgrade to 16" or higher.

I think that the 15's were the only avilable size on the early models, and, are supposedly very desirable with the racing crowd and hobbists. The fronts were 15x7 and rears were 15x8....I think? I think $200 each would be a deal in their advertised condition. It would cost near that amount to have a set restored to new.

If they are a set of 15x7 and 15x8 I might be interested. What size tires are on there now? Do you have any pictures? And where are you located?

The 944 was offered with Fuchs as an option in 15x7 F and 15x8 R. My car has these.

I am very interested in acquiring a pair of 15x7. I will buy a complete set if necessary. I will be selling the 15x8 once I have a complete set of 4 15x7. The reason I must have the 15x7 and not the 15x8 is the rules in SCCA ITS limit me to a 7" wide wheel.

Geo, if they are all 15x7s, I'd be interested in the set of 7s and 8s as PCA autocross lets me run any available stock wheel combo.

all you have to do is look at the back for the size and part number.

i think it's pretty dumb that SCCA won't let you use 8" wheels. good luck selling them. i have 4 8's (the dumb fronts rub) and i just had a heck of a time finding another 7". 8" wide is stock in rear, they should let you run them at the track. on the other hand it'd be a pain to run them because you'd not be able to change between front and rear as easily.

oh well.

$200-400/set, figure the high end of the range in that condition but there isn't much demand so you may end up ~$300. $200-250 will get you all you want in "track condition" and the track guys are the ones buying them, they won't pay extra for condition.
I feel better now, I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to downgrade from Fuchs to twists!

Why is it a bad thing to go from Fuchs to something bigger?
I just bought a set of 17" 5-Spoke Boxster S wheel's and am currently thinking about selling my 15", 7" F, 8" R, Fuchs off to help pay for other things.

Just wondering...

Don't sweat it. The CCs are actually a better wheel than they get credit for, they are lighter than most of the other wheels that fit these cars and they are no weaker than most of 'em (stronger than some!). I got a set of 4 all packed in a big box with some extra cardboard for packaging, UPS had the whole thing at 60 pounds (I'm sure it was rounded up from 59.x, not down) and there was at least 2-3 pounds of cardboard so figure <14.5 pounds each. That's pretty damn light!

Because Fuchs are better looking to a lot of people. They are also more rare and unique.
