Does anyone know what the extra gadget on the windsheid is, and for what purpose ?

Wind deflector for improved aerodynamics? Not sure if these had windshield wipers, but this would help to keep the air from hitting them.

I read a tech note on that car, that mentioned he added that and the closed headlight buckets for "improved air flow," car is in Africa.

I don't think that's from the factory, none of the other factory photo's I've seen have that. Besides, Raj would've ordered one from Porsche Motorsport for his clone . . .

There's the man himself! So the conclusion is that the windscreen was non-factory? I'll cut you a deal on my 924S, its even got some 968 parts on it already...j/k

My understanding is that is a factory part...only seen on the 968 Turbo RS. They put it there to improve areodynamics.

Cars 1, 2 and 3 have the piece. The aftermarket RS made by Dave White Motorsports has it. I feel certain this is a racing part, and am fairly certain that it is NLA.

Check the www.968turbo.homestead.com website, and race pictures on 968.net.
