I have a pretty beatup spare 15x6 phonedial sitting outside my house. Its since turned into a home for spiders and a loose tree leaf collector. When i finally get home, i plan to clean the wheel up and sand it smooth. I plan to attempt and replicate the polished lip and anthracite color. Getting the color should be no problem, im not sure how i would acheive the polished chrome lip however.

After the wheel gets cleaned up and painted, ill be putting a peice of circular glass over it and using it as a mock coffee table in my room.

I'm having a set of 16" late offset PD's fully polished right now. Al Reed Polishing, in Anaheim CA. Can't recommend him enough. Gret guy, great prices. I am supposed to pick them up on Friday. I will post pix...if I can ever figure out how to do it!

As for painted PD's, especially white? Not in my lifetime!!

Those ones posted with the grey centers and polished lip and cap look AWESOME. I almost did it to mine but mine are late offset so they don't look nearly as good as the early 16" PD's do. On a silver or black car they would look great and really unique.

IIRC Cookies use the same caps as Fuchs, no need to paint 'em since they're available in black or silver and with plain or painted crest. If you really want a pic, I guess I could pull a black/painted crest center off one of my Fuchs and stick it on a CC track wheel. Or were you loking for a color other than black or a pic with it on the car.

those "anthracite" ones with the polished lips.... is the dark anthracite color a paint? It looks more like black-chrome to me.... which I love.... but $$$$.

Eyal, a nice refinish job is usually in the area of 100 per wheel. 400 for refinishing? That takes more money than sense to do. (see sig)

I vote for the anthracite. My wheels get so dirty they look that way anyhow. With a silver car, slightly darker wheels would look good.

No chrome please! Chrome does not look good on our cars.

I saw a black 944 with flourescent green phone dials. I can tell you that doesn't work.

I really like the anthracite ones. But no one has shown a picture of what they look like on the car. Anybody?

The anthracite with polished lip and center caps (two tone?) are the best looking phone dials I have ever seen. Polished phone dials would be number two in my book.

Man, I can't believe this thread got resurrected. After I did the poll, I painted my PDs white -- but didn't turn out quite right (the white became too creamy -- not pure enough) and the paint is getting orange peels. When I redo them, I'm going to paint them orange. That way, the orange peels will look rather appropriate.
