Checked out the '04 Pontiac GTO yesterday. Yawn. Probably the best bang for the buck these days, but the styling is bland to say the least. Pontiac can't seen to make up their styling-minds. From the 'bat car' Trans-Ams to the now, dulls-ville GTO. Fit and finish was first rate, though. You could de-badge this car, put it into a crowd of Toyotas, Nissans, Hondas, Hundias, and the like and not distinguish it from the others ...... until you started it!

Its something from Austrailia but I didnt catch the name. I hear the suspension is somewhat crappy, but thats a whole lot of car for the money. i accually like the interior.

Only a matter of time until the aftermarket picks up the ball and starts producing body kits and RamAir hoods for it. If I needed a "family" car, I might actually consider one. A plus, being on the bland side, it may be invisible to the roadside tax collector...

agreed that the exterior styling is pretty bland, I think it has potential though. I cant wait to see body kits and wheels/hoods and things come out for them. Ive seen a few photoshopped pics that look pretty nice.

I am just not a fan of American cars (love the trucks) yet. My 85 year old Grandmother has a Pontiac GTP and the thing FLYS! But it doesn't do it well, it makes my me nervous to drive it fast.
Funny story, every 3 years my Grandmother walks into the Pontiac dealer and says I want the biggest most expensive one you have (she drives about 12K over 3 years). This time she didn't get the normal salesman she works with. Some young guy put her in the GTP and sent her on her way. I was shocked to see what it was when I went over to see her new car. I don't think she has ever hit the supercharger, so when ever I drive it I make sure I let it stretch its legs. Next year when she gets a new car I am think M3 since she is into these fast automobiles now. God it is good to be 85 years young isn't it? Best wishes - Jay Gratton

I'm convinced that these guys will jump on the bandwagon and brew up something wicked based on the GTO and get factory warranty support.

too bad they went after the people that had muscle cars, or lusted after muscle cars 20 years ago. most of those people tried modern technology and aren't too anxious to go back.
I just drove a friends G35 coupe. he picked it up yesterday. what a smooth motor, and silky smooth shifts. 20 less hp than the GTOuch, 2 less cylinders, but probably a lot more smoothness all around, for the same $$$.
