Angry Timing belt "slip"...

Hey fellas,

I posted on here over the end of the summer when my 89' 944s2 broke down on the mass pike. Well, that was months ago, i FINALLY got my car to the shop two weeks ago. I talked to my mechanic two days ago, he told me that the timing belt "slipped" and one of the pistons mushroomed a sparkplug, bent valves, and metal shards were in the cylinder. After telling me this, he told me that he wasnt sure, but the block might be fractured .

This totally sucks. But anyways, being a person who just CANNOT let go of things, I've decided to replace my 944s2 engine with a 968 engine. Now the hard part....where would I find a NEW 968 engine? Or at least a low mileage one?

Thanks in advance,
Branden

This may be useful in your quest for a 968 swap.

How does a piston mushroom a spark plug? T-belt has nothing to do with clearance between piston and plug.

Thats what I was thinking. Only thing I can think of is a broken valve hit it.

Are the cylinder walls fine?

For what it's worth, 944online sells rebuilt heads, I think they sell them for the 16v.
