YES...
Ruby is a "colder," grayer, darker shade. It is also a "metalic" finish. Garnet is slightly "warmer," more "luscious" and is also a "poly" if I am not mistaken. Close... but different.
Ruby is also pretty fast, too.

I've seen Garnet in person but not Ruby so I can't comment.
See if you can find the factory paint codes. Porsche has used different names for the same color before like India Red/Guards Red.
My car is Dove Blue Metallic, the paint code is LM5P. Baltic Blue Metallic is also LM5P.
