It's OFFICIAL! 944Fest at Fisheys!
I just got off the phone with Mr Fish, and he gave me the OK to plan the 944Fest at his place July 4th weekend. For those of you who missed the last posts, we'll be gathering in Lebanon, Ohio Saturday July 3rd and Sunday July 4th. Lebanon is between Dayton and Cincinnati. It sounds like they've got a great location, We've got a lot of planning to do!
Expect caravan organizing posts as the event draws near.
I can't wait!!

I am planning on going too! Details please, cost, what is around there (roads, food, etc)? I would like to know who all is going as well, like to have an idea of how many people there are planning on going.

I am excited as this will be my first fest, they look like alot of fun!

UD, thanks for the vid offer. In the past, Fish and I collected footage and made vids, You are welcome to film everything you can and put something together. I may gather some footage for ya, I've got a lipstick cam I can slap on the fender. The less I have to do the better. I'll be delegating a lot of jobs, it was overwhelming in the past but I really plan on sharing responsibilities this year. Here's a brief glimpse at what we've done in the past, you can expect something similar:
Arrive at Fishey's Sat afternoon, say between 3 and 5. Meet and Greet, wash up the cars. I'll spring for Pizza and Beer, pop and munchies for Sat evening grubs. Stay up late Sat eve around the bonfire howling at the moon and bench racing. Sunday AM, (OK..Noon) we take the pack for a cruise. We'll find some choice spots and stop for photo shoots. Back at the compound, I'll spring for some sort of catered Lunch. In the past I did a hog roast or steaks and clams. I'm not sure about this year, But it will be worthy. We'll give away some prizes and say goodbyes, most folks will want to be on the road home by 5pm Sunday.
As usual, the event is free but you might get hit up for donations. Donations can include snacks, prizes, beverages, old parts or whatever you think we can use. It's too early to start saying "I'll bring chips" or whatever, but keep your eye open for a spare set of 55lb injectors and such. We have a few sponsors who donate prizes and support the cause, hopefully they'll be onboard again this year.
A few things I'm thinking about:
Fish mentioned ping pong..we won't have mowers to race, maybe this can be a not-so-dangerous substitute.
They are going to have a lift there, so any wrenching that needs to be done can be clinic-style. Sadly, I don't think we'll see Scott Harrison this year, he'll be at the Parade in TX. Maybe we could get a Pcar mechanic from the local dealer or shop to be present and help out. ($$$)
Anybody have suggestions for catered grub? For example, "Smokey joes in lebanon does AWESOME ribs!".. (most everyone likes ribs, right?) I'm not that familiar with the area so I'll need some local suggestions.
I suppose Fish knows the cruise route. I'm not sure how long it should be..so folks having driven 800 miles to get there, that may be the last thing they want to do..drive more. Fish and I will work that one out I suppose.
I'm open to suggestions. Anything you'd like to see us do that isn't illegal or immoral?
