Default 1985/1 944 idle adjustment

How does one increase the idle adjustment on a '85/1 944? Any help greatly appreciated.

increase counter clockwise.
its a screw, loosening it raises it = opens up the bypass chamber more.

...except ICV will force it back to normal. The adjustment has the biggest effect on the '1200 rpm fuel re-engagement jolt: too fat out, bigger jolt; too far in, might get the 'almost die drop'.

At least that's the effect on my car. I suppose you can run wih ICV jumpered out all the time... then the idle screw would hold a specific speed

Thanks. I thought that might be the case but wanted to be sure.

Dan,

OP has an 85/1 car, it does not have an ICV or "jumper plug".

Idle speed is adjusted entirely by the throttle bypass screw on the side of the throttle body (and also slightly possible via the throttle stop screw).
