Do you let the girlfriend/wife/s.o. drive the Porsche?
#16
My wife has banished herself from the 951. She always seems to get in races with the local ricers. (and others) She banished herself when she raced a "that kind" (late model) 'vette down the freeway up to "135 'ish." She won, but said she would not drive it from now on. (yeah right.)
I should've known. She used to run redline in her Geo Storm against me in the turbo 300zx in the early 90's when we were dating.
Those were the days.......

My wife is Swedish - classically trained in how to "really" drive a car and barely knows how to drive an automatic - since she's been driving 5 speeds since she was 10.
She is the safest (but by no means slow) driver I've ever met - has a pure instinct about how to move through traffic quickly and safely. It's amazing.
I let her drive the S2 anytime she wants - I totally trust her. But she doesn't choose to drive it very often. She knows how passionate I am about the car and prefers not to get in the way of that passion.
Gotta love her!

My gf doesn't now how to drive a stick although she wants me to teach her... I tell her it costs too much to fix if anything should happen to it, it's a great excuse!

My wife will only drive the 951 when I am not in the car....hmmmm. It works out to be about once every six months.
Like Riff's wife, my wife has her own SUV that is her daily driver. She also prefers it over the Porsche. What are women thinking?????

I let my 17 year old GF drive my car once....only once. I told her if she stalled 5 times it was over. This was her first time driving standard. First try ..stall. Second try ...stall. Third try ...stall...kerplunk VRMMMMMM pop start and she was off. I told her to take her feet all the way off the gas then push on the clutch and shift into second...I had to shift for her ..lol. I made her try 1st gear again and 2 more stalls later and she was done. I feel sorry for my clutch and tranny. I appologized to it later.

I taught my gf how to drive standard in her dads ford ranger.. (what a piece, never thought a 95 could be that cheaply made, felt 20 years older than my porsche and my range rover. and to compare it to the range rover is a big feat). well anyway, she actually did better in the porsche, but that is also because my ISV is going and my idle is around 1400 after it warms up. :/ (will take donations.) Well to make a long story short, she hated it because she is 5'2" and its a struggle for her to reach the bottom of the clutch, she hates sitting so low to the floor, and she just hates standards.. So i guess all my porsches of the future will most likely be mine only .

I'll let my kids drive it. They took it out over Christmas and came back with videotape proof of over 100 mph. Needless to say, I was NOT happy. I did crack up when I heard my middle son say, "It's Christmas and we have the keys to a Porsche.....what would you be doing?"
