Question 86' 944 tire help

ok, so i'm getting new tires for my car... all 4.

my parents are willing to spend up to like $120 per tire.
I need some ideas of what i should get, pretty much all around use, although it does not rain that often here in Las Vegas!

What brand wOuld you guys look for? which should i stay away from? Any input would be much appreciated..

Also my car failed the smog inspection today.. the guy said it was becuz i need a fuel injection service.. Whats your take on this??

thanks for everything,

Best economy for a sporty tire: Bridgestones.
Best tire regardless of price: Michelin Pilot Sports.

Yeah, Bridgestones are the best for the price (I wouldn't even consider anything less) but $120 is cutting it kinda close. I hope that number doesn't include mounting/balancing/valves etc.

I like my yokohamas avids! they are relatively cheap too

the falken ziexs I have are good too. not great, but good anyways..

Change your O2 sensor, put a full bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner and 1/2 tank of fuel, and drive around for an hour before your next smog test.

you get better readings if the cat gets a chance to get really hot.

the fuel injector cleaner helps a bit, I've found.

Kuhmo Ecsta 712s are good tires and will definatly be under $120.

There is also some good inexpensive Yokahamas, but I can't remember the name.

For your smog test, i have heard if you unplug a fuel injector it will pass like a champ, unless they see it. I have never done this, but it makes sense as long as you don't drive to hard getting there.

Falken Azenis would be my choice. But I'm not the tire guy, so I could always be wrong, I'm going to need new tires soon as well and need to know of some good tires.

i was wondering what is the biggest tire you can put on a 951 wheel. For some reason my wheels peel out alot when i shift under hard acceleration with my 18x9 wheels with 265/35/18 and especially with my stock rims with 225/50/16
