Exclamation Wrecked my yellow 944S/968 conversion :(

I have not posted in some time since my fiancee' and I went our separate ways. She has the house and the computer for now. Sounds bad but things are amicable between us. Thing just got even better on the 30th of Dec, when i wrecked my beautifull yellow 944S/968 conversion. the accident was my fault and I do not have insurance that covers my vehichle. the damage is to the right front upper and lower bumper drivers side front fender and the hood and headlight assembly. I had just changed the belts about 500 miles ago and she ran like a champ. My mechanic says the compression was extremely strong.
I am not sure if I want to try and find a nice turbo front end and fix 'er up. or sell her for parts and buy a different car. I am leaning toward finding a nice body and putting this engine in.
If anyone knows of a nice engineless 951,944S2, or 968 for sale please let me know. I am considering getting a 928 as well. Thanks for listening to my sad story. I really miss being on this board, I hope to have a computer soon. I have included a picture of her how i would like to remember her...the car that is : )

Too bad on all counts, man. But things can only get better, right?

Have you had the frame checked for straightness? With the money you've put into it you should really try to repair it.

That stinks. I can sympathize with the fiancee thing. I'm doing the divorce thing right now.
If you decide to part it would you sell the wheels?

I can hear the wings of vultures swooping in.

Ross, sorry to hear about your misfortunes, that was a beautiful car. I would try to fix it back up...so much work already put into it and the rare color make it one of a kind. I will keep an eye out for any '44s in the area. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

Ross, I feel for you. It's so sad to hear about losing something you've put so much time and energy into (both your engagement and your car). How bad is the damage? Repairable?

944pete, how dare you ask a question like that in this poor man's time of hurting!? but Crushingday, if you did decide to sell those rims I live just down the street from you in Clarksville, MD (about 20 minutes away). You wouldn't have to worry about the muss and fuss of shipping.

But seriously, I really am sorry to hear about your misfortune. Your's too 944pete.

Sincerely,

Mickey

Fix it! Used parts for these cars are relatively cheap.
Sorry about the mishap, but no sense dwelling on it. Do something about it ASAP and you'll feel better!

Better luck in 2004!

P.S. The girl will come back if it's really what you want. Trust me!

Buy used parts and fix your car. Its a lot easier than taking the engine out and going through all that drama. It sounds like relatively easy fix. Too bad you are so far away. I have front bumpers and bumper shocks along with the inner structure and headlights for pick up (free). Don't part it.

I think the car should be repairable, but he did say he was thinking of parting it. I've noticed you have to get in line fast around here.
On the other subject, if there has to be a breakup, it's better before you get married. It gets very, very messy afterwards.

Ross!

Thats awful!!! I can't even beleive it - that car was so much fun to drive! What happened? If the details are too painful I understand...
All that said - the important thing is you made it out unscathed - the car can be replaced.
Let me know if I can take you out for a beer sometime - you can steal my car again and I can try to convince you to sell me the engine.

Let me know -

Come to think of it, we're talking about an engineless 968 Turbo S here: 968 Turbo S for sale. It's also missing alot of creature comforts, but similar exterior color.
