Hey Jamiejim? I have a silver one I'd be willing to trade ya! my car is red, as is the cam tower. a red throttle cam would be pretty in that engine compartment. PM me if you're interested.

Can anyone tell me what needs to be adjusted when you install the response cam? Just the throttle cable? How is it adjusted? Thanks.

Follow the thottle cable back to the firewall, there is a locking nut and a threaded barrel on the firewall. Losen the lock nut and unscrew the threaded barrel some effectively making the path for the cable longer which takes out any slack. Or the other way if you need to loosen the cable.

Since the throttle cam is on the actual throttle body, the smaller it is, the less you have to move it in order to open the throttle valve the same distance. Think of it like you are unscrewing a bolt. If you use a huge breaker bar on that bolt, you have to make long, sweeping motions with your arm for every time you turn the bolt. However, if you got rid of the breaker bar and used a 3/8" drive ratchet, your arm movement goes way down with every turn.

Does this make sence? If not, don't feel bad. I haven't had my coffee yet, so I'm not really sure about what I'm typing...

Sure did, once I get everything done I will let you know. The PM will make me remember I am going to try and finish it up tonight.

Travis,
You don't have any of those knurled nuts to hold the cam on left do you? I've been trying to locate an acorn nut with the right thread size, but no joy. Also if anyone has had a chance to see a Turbo Throttle body, they have a circular quarter round cam that gives them the same kind of response stock.

Those actually go over the nut and screw on to the threads that are left sticking up. The nut still holds the cam on, but the cap is just a decorative touch.
I made those by hand (no CNC there), so each one was a little different but followed the basic design. Depending on how nice you ask , I could throw some billet up in the lathe and turn you out one when I get a chance. I cannot anodize it like the one in the pic though. To much trouble to pull out the anodizing setup for one piece.

here's the one I put on mine, very easy install, less than 5 min. and I definately recommend it! It makes your car much more fun to drive! Not to mention anyone that drives it will be impressed and think your car has a lot more hp...hehe

wow I just installed mine, phew what a difference. Barely have to push down on the pedal to get it moving, and it does feel a lot faster, and a lot better.

Has anyone figured out if the throttle response cam does affect mileage, or have any bad effect on the engine or other parts? I would like the improved response, but not to the detriment of other things.
