Love mine. I think they do a great job replacing the A520's. I'll be running mine on the street and the track in the next season. Expecting great things from them. I loved the A520's and the ES100's on my old BMW.

how do they hold up when hot, I have had some tires in this performance range get very slippery when pushed hard.

thanks

K,

I run mine VERY hard and have never had any problems with them. A+ tire.

At a few autocrosses and a 2 day DE the ES100's held up well.

As with any tire, make sure your alignment suits your driving style.
If doing a lot of track, you're gonna need more than stock camber to keep you from demolishing the outer edge of the tire.

Thats a good point, on my 86 car I ran an extra 1.5 neg camber and the tires held up much better at DE, temps were good and the edges were fine.

I flat out loved my A520s. I also got 40k miles out of them on my Sentra SE-R. I had a set of Parada on my turbo G20. Also got 40k miles out of them. I bought some ES100s for my 328i. I got about 12k miles out of them. I'm now debating whether to try another set or move on to the BFG TA something or another that got really high ratings.

In street driving the ES100s have been a very competent tire. Certainly better than the Summitomos they replaced (I also had a set of Summitomos on my turbo G20 and they blow goats). One thing that has been very impressive with the ES100s is that even though they are quite worn, they are still pretty damned good in the wet (althought nothing I've tried compares with the A520s).

I have the ES100's on my Passat. (My 951 wears Bridgestone S-03's). The ES100's are a great tire for the money, much better than the Dunlop SP-8000's that they replaced. Grip and steering response are very good. In the rain they are much better than the Dunlops. I would definitely buy them again.

On 15" PD's I did not like them for AXing. But there again nobody uses stock wheels for AXing. Around town and freeway driving very quiet and responsive. Don't have much weather here in Socal so can't say good or bad.

David,

What exactly did you not like about them for autocrossing?

Only problem I have run into with them is that they suck in the snow, but thats not a big deal at all, otherwise they are awesome, and the price is right!

I don't have any myself, yet....but I have done some research on them, and they have shown themselves to be the best (objectivly) comprimise of dry, wet, noise, treadlife and price. I plan on getting these for myself this spring.

Lance I have the ES100 on my 968 Cab (225/45/17 & 255/40/17) and same size AVS on the 951S - ES100 is a bit softer and not quite as sharp, but then could be partly the suspension.

PM and I'll give you the details on where to get em.

BTW, they really suck in the snow right now - downright scary moving the 968 around tonight - got stuck in my driveway, and then driving it around was really exciting when the grooves filled up with snow!

I have them on my 83 autocross car with 15x7 wheels. 225/50 size

Work great at the autocross for a street tire.

I will be putting these on my 951 to replace the nice, but pricey Yoko AVS Sports.
