$4000 for all that? You are joking, right? You'd do a heck of a lot better parting it out (unfortunately), especially with the turbo and suspension upgrades.

K27 just parted out a wrecked car that didn't have too much in the way of upgrades on it, IIRC, and he netted something north of $10k in about a month.

If you part it, I call dibs on the turbo and the konis! If I hadn't just bought an '87 in September, I'd be all over this deal.

How comfortable would you be with that car driving it on a long road trip? If I flew out there it would be 2000 miles back. Do you think it would make it?

I can't that it would not make it. It has never once left me stranded. All the work I have done on it were to upgrade things or replace things that were normal wear items. However, without balance shafts spinning, I am not sure if I would want to drive it so far at one speed. Especially since the typical highway RPM is right around 3K, which is close to the natural resonant frequency of the engine. Maybe it wouldn't really be that bad for it, but I am just saying I probably wouldn't do it. Also, I let the registration run out in November (I knew I wouldn't be driving it this winter) and am not sure how that works as far as driving it on public roads. Possibly after a bill of sale is completed, it doesn't matter and you have your normal 30days to complete title and registration, but I would definately check on that.

Let me know. After sh944's post, parting it out is definately tempting. On one hand it would be sad to do, but I think it would be fun. Ahhh, decisions decisions.

I told a local friend of it, he may contact you - really a killer price, if I had the time I'd buy it.

Hey, trust me, I am not advocating parting 951's out, its just $4k seems WAY too cheap for that car as described. Oh, and I claimed dibs on the turbo and konis first! lol

Would it be ethical to start a "feeler" post to see what the interest is for parting it out?

Just curious. Now Mark, don't get too upset. I am not convinced yet in parting it out. However, the more I think about it, it would be a fun last project. Plus, taking the car apart is a lot easier and quicker that puting it back together.

Well, I want the turbo, the konis and a bunch of little parts... I would also be interested in the fiberglass roof panel if you can't sell the shell. I am getting ready within the next couple of weeks to do a turbo upgrade on my car, so your timing is perfect.

If you put a balance shaft belt on it, I can fly down there mid-febuary and drive it back myself. I would HATE to see that car parted out, and would definately spend the couple hundred bucks to fly down there and save it.

That is a great car, and will make someone extatic. Please dont part it. I don't have any place to say that, but oh well. sell it to 1988Porsche944, or FAEracer. they are yuor perfect buyers. I am even better (lol) buuuut no money=bad buyer, so sell it to them!
