Light question, Interior dimmer
Hi all,
If I wanted to tap the ashtray light to hook up somthing I want to dim with the dash lights, what wire do I use? I think there are 2 gray and 1 black?
Happy New Year!

Umm... Let me see if I can remember correctly.
I hate guessing, but it looks like nobody else is sure.
IIRC, there are 3 wires there, 2 of them are together on one pin, and the other one is on it's own.
You will want to tap into the 2 that are together, they should be the power.
If I am wrong, or it just does not work, there is also a wire going to the clock to dim it when the lights are on. That is the one I used for my stereo dimmer.

Perfect, glad to know I helped somebody out =)
As to the wire on the clock.
I can't recall what color it was, however I took my multimeter, and checked for the wire that got power when I turned my lights on. Sorry I can't recall which one it was.
There is a light on the ashtray, but after a couple years of being removed by a smoker, the light usually ends up tucked inside the console somewhere. Took me a long time to find mine, up ahead of the shifter!

Yeah, but all that is broken on my car =(
It got in a bad smash about 10 years ago (before my time), and almost the entire interior was pulled and re-installed after it was fixed, so there are missing screws and broken clips everywhere.
