Timm, you are getting cheap/crap amber bulbs if you can take the amber color off the bulb. High quality bulbs are made out of natural amber glass. That is the color of the glass all the way through it, not just an exterior coating.

Tax thing basically, cars bought locally are taxed like mad over here. One way to go around that is to work abroad for a few years, buy the car there and then import it when moving back... I think most (if not all) US spec 951s in this country came in like that. Of course it doesn't mean anything now that they're all been through who knows how many owners, so it's just a matter of personal preference: usually everybody likes the euro look better, but US cars tend to have more options like A/C and leather interior...

Yes, Timm. I have a pack of 10 coming in on the 6th for my sidemarkers so can take a look at them and see what they are like. But they were "natural amber" which is the term of art the bulb Biz uses for amber glass, and not a coating. I hope they really are natural as I haven't ordered these before. I'm not even sure what they cost as they were part of a big bulb order for Rennlisters but should be under a buck each or there abouts. When they get in let me experiment with them so we don't recreate the wheel twice over. Then I can mail a few off to you.
