Nice work!

Was that steering shaft rebuilt by JMG in the UK?

No.
Local UJ shop. Any UJ shop should be able to do this. Just need to use of the shelf 15mm bearing and enlarge the hole.
The UJ shop I used do a lot of rally stuff, and they suggestet to go to 15mm.

Thats the thing, in Europe you have a lot of specialized shops that know their stuff but unfortunately in the USA they would think I had lost my mind if I went around asking folk where the nearest uj shop was.

Today I mounted up the exhaust manifoil and turbo on the Block just to Discover that the threads in the turbo was bad. I had to take everything off again and save the turbo. It worked out ok. Now I I have to wait for some New bolts.

looking at your parts lot, powerflex bushings are nice but be careful to install them properly with loads of the right grease, otherwise they wont work well and they will squeak.
Please dont use vibratechnics engine mounts or whatever they are called...they just dont work and they will ruin your ride and chassis if you run them long enough.
I have not tested them personally but people who did reported that they absorb no vibrations, even the "street softer version" and everything is passed to the car body.
This is a special 931 and i think you can get a pair of new engine mounts.
I have a new spare spring for the side with the spring and the other side you can surely find a good condition rubber.

Thanks for the feedback.
I know there is a mixed opinion about the Vibratechnices motor mounts. These are the street version, so hopfully they will work out on a semi-racer

This is a really amazing build!! Do you know any of the history of the car before it was a rally car? This will definitely be one car to hang onto!

I have some resent history on the car.A friend on the 944 board in Sweden bought the car in 2009. He did some rust repairs and a complete rebuild of the engine with new rings and bearings all round. He then sold it to Norway in 2010, and the car entered in the 2011 Monte Carlo Historique. Here are some pics:

As for my own history I used to have a 944 Turbo. Dynoed 390bhp at the wheels. All Lindsey racing stuff in the engine. Had to sell it to buildt the garage...

Small update:
Engine is now back in. Currently connecting all bits and bobs.
Picked up a set of 15in Cookie cutters.
Had the fuel lines replaced at my local hose shop for $10 including a cup of coffee. The guy even polished the ends!

Engine and cookie..

Ok, so I started on the hood today, and discovere a LOT of filler! It is all over and it about 1-2mm. It is a lot! Around the NACA duct there is even a part about 8mm (see pic.) My question: Is the a factory job or has someone fixed this hood at some point in time? I find it realy dificult to believe that this was done in a factory...

Question two: I am missing the badge on the intake. I downloaded a picture of the internet and did a printout. This will work, but I need a high res. picture taken at 90 deg angle. Can someone help me with such a picture please.....

Bondo heaven..
