I live in the Springfield area. I've changed my belts a few times. I've also worked on another 944 in Springfield and one in STL. I have all the tools. If you're flexible on time, I'm available.
I recommend doing the water pump and a front engine reseal if you don't know when it was last done.

Never had a problem with Conti belts, FWIW.

They had a poor quality control problem in the past where the belt ribs stripped in a short time, it happened to me so I’m cautious on recommending Conti even though it seems they may fixed the issue now. Regardless my bad experience with Conti, if you search “Gates vs Conti” on any Porsche forum the consensus is always the OE supplier Gates ftw.

I ended up going with a belt/roller package from Paragon, both belts Gates. Thanks for all the recommendations!

When you're done with your belts and still have that rattle check for a loose O2 sensor. BTDT.
