Default 944/968 Carbon fiber RS style door card project

I'm attempting to make some DIY CF door cards with RS style door pulls and latch hardware. So far so good. The hardware seems to be back ordered. Here is where I stand at the moment.

can save some bucks by using nylon web material from a hardware store and making a "rivet loop" yourself vs buying the "genuine" handles which are exactly the same thing.

The red webbing isn't the issue. The plastic thing it passes through is the part I can't easily replicate. Also, with what I bought that part and the door pull parts match. The pull straps are only $8-19 bucks though.

Here's what I did, with bits and pieces from around the shop.

About 2/3's of the way down on the page. BTW, I see the 911 RS cards and the cloth loop comes out horizontal. I for the life of me could not figure out a way to do that on the 944.

I can't figure out how to make them pull down either. They will pull forward.

This is all about "style points" anyway. The mechanism that is being replaced doesn't weigh anything.

Agreed, the factory handle, screws and plastic back bezel are 3.8oz per door. The OP probably gained more weight than would be saved via use of the 968 door panel top

Doubtful. The carbon is .04" thick. Also I lost the arm rest, door pocket, and speaker. But yeah, it's for the look of the thing not any performance gain from a few pounds. The car makes well over 400hp. A pound or two here and there isn't a priority. The factory lower part isn't under there. It got cut off at the stitch line.
