Porsche 968 Spoiler & Rear Glass 944 Upgrade

What's it cost to ship that thing? They are huge, fragile, and heavy. That means big big big shipping cost.
In general, the PartsWerks guys don't have screaming deals on stuff.
Is there something different about the 968 hatch that keeps it from coming apart like 944 hatches? Or is it just a matter of time before they do it too?

I am not certain, but they list it must be shipped by TRUNK. I think that would really increase the cost. I am not sure where they are going to find a TRUNK that large.

$1K is expensive. Do you need the whole thing including the glass -- or just the spoiler. If you just want the spoiler, I think you're better off going to fiberglass.

1K is about right. Call any dismantler and ask what they charge. Actually 1K is kind of on the cheap side. A few places have asked 1400, the lowest was 900 IIRC.

haha, $400 to ship next day air from CA to NY. Cheepest (UPS Ground) was still $100 though :-/....
Guess if ya needed a new rear window it would be worth it though...

I'm sure the $6K number came from a call to the local Porsche dealer.
I'd still like to know if the 968 hatch has something about it that keeps it from coming apart like a 944 hatch.
Or is everyone's 968 hatch going to have glass/frame separation in five years like the 944 hatches are doing now?
