Might give Skip at Paragon a call, he is in Washington State, I believe.

Paragon is BUT Skip is in Washington State. And I am almost sure he does some of the rebuilding (when I sent him a set of cores they went to WA)

ProParts in Southern California used to be the only other authorized koni rebuild and/or revalve center in the U.S. That might be closer than KY. Let me know if you need me to chase down their number. I have had work done there and was impressed.

I've been quoted $140+ apiece from Koni NA. Not cheap but now I'm thinking seriously about just getting the inserts and doing it myself on the 86 951.

Talk to Jason at Paragon Products. Paragon has the "new" Koni inserts for late model struts.
I just "rebuilt" the struts on my '87 with Koni adjustable inserts from Paragon. Depending on your mechanical ability you can do both struts in an afternoon.
You will need a hacksaw, radial chop-saw or a p-grinder w/cutting wheel, drill and bits, Allen wrenches, spring compressor, and "normal" hand tools.

Or if you prefer, you can send them in and they will rebuild them. They have a phone number as mentioned now TWO times.

lol - here's a hint... it's 50 where I am and 75 where the home office is.
K27, since the 89 has the "special" struts, it is better to have them rebuilt rather than install the 8641-1414S inserts. While you're at it, Koni has a special valving for those that will bump them up for use with spring rates from 300-600+ and also make them double-adjustable. We periodically have these converted units in stock - best to call the toll-free to check for pricing and availability. Koni-na contact info is on their site (www.koni-na.com)
Good Luck!

Thanks Skip, as always you read my mind and that was the sort of info I was hoping for, I was going to go with revalving and around #450 spring rates, any ideas on what to do with the rear? I had Bilstein c/o before but this is an expensive route for a street car, those are really more suited to track.
thanks to all that replied, great help, as always Rennlisters Rock.

Koni charged me more to rebuild and ship my rear MO30s than they cost to replace.. Plus I had to wait 2 months. Don't bother working with them, unless you can't locate replacements or the other options fail you.
