I am going to buy the exact same part for my 968. Did you buy a tool to install this, and if so, what tool did you buy?

Thanks

Nathan

Also, were you able to make the swap of the pulley without removing the alternator from the car?

Thanks

Nathan

While usually reliable, I have replaced a few of these as an Audi tech over the years. Common failure is it seizes and no longer freewheels. Yoi can hold the fan inside the alternator and chwck if the pulley freewheels in both directions. There is a special socket for the bolt to mount it but I don't have a picture right now. For the most part, a reliable part.

You need an Allen key and a 33 teeth socket alternator free wheel pulley removal tool for VW/Audi etc.

I assume you can change the pulley incar, but that was no option for me, since I'm currently replacing all the seals of the engine.
