Question 944 Steering wheel options, have you guy used other Porsche steering wheels?

Hey guys,

Just the 944 factory steering wheel is unpleasant to say the least so I was exploring the possibilities of maybe using an alternate steering wheel from an other Porsche perhaps.

Has anyone done this and if so PHOTOS PLEASE!!!!

THANKS GUYS..

Yes, I'm aware of this wheel, however I was actually asking if anyone has use an OEM wheel from an other model. I have considered this type already but just looking for an alternative to going aftermarket.

Thanks,

This is a CS style wheel, it's an original style, but probably this is a replica.

Yeah, that 's a very common upgrade... but I'm trying to find something different so I'm hoping someone has something interesting hiding in their garage to share..

a few folks have fitted 996 steering wheels but have needed to make a hub-spline adapter. (gregeast)

one guy (azbanks) even got the 996 tiptronic buttons to work adjusting his stereo.

i prefer the look of the 4-spoke 944 wheel above all others, personally.
if your car has the original chunky 3 spoke i can see why youd want to change.

I went back to the 944's roots and fitted an Audi steering wheel out of an Audi Quattro from the 80's, needed slight modification to the back of the wheel for the horn ring,
Just got to recover the horn pad and add a Porsche badge, feels really nice and MUCH better than the stock one

All well and good, but how in hell can you shift with your left hand? Seems unnatural to say the least ...

PS: That really is a very nice looking wheel, thanks for the tip.

PPS: Is it true the water in the toilet flushes backwards down there?

Thanks,

Sorry, based on the way I interpreted your request, I put this up because to me this is an OEM wheel (more or less a copy of the 968CS wheel with some stitching variances).

AZbanks is gone. In his words ran off by the powers that be. Has not been active since December 2016.
