Default 944 and 928 front side markers the same???

just wanted to know if the 944 and 928 side markers are interchangeable? i'm looking for clear side markers and only found clear 928 side markers which look exactly the same, unless someone out here has 944 clear side markers they want to sell to me?

I checked the PET last night, both the 928 & 944 (89, didn't look at other years) and the funny thing was there weren't any part #'s shown? They showed the markers in the drawings and numbered them, but on the BOM those numbers don't show up. What's up with that?

PET lists the part numbers as follows:

944 front:
944.631.411.00 (left)
944.631.412.00 (right)

944 rear:
944.631.425.00 (left)
944.631.426.00 (right)

928 front:
928.631.411.02 (left)
928.631.412.02 (right)

And I've been watching Klearz website for 944 side markers for well over a year and they have been 'out of stock' for at least that long. Not sure if they even still make them.

Thanks Roy. One of these days maybe I'll figure out how to read the PET. What I get looks like the picture below. Notice the absence of part #15? Can't figure it.

Part #25 shows up though, but it's shown as a "direction indicator" instead of a "side marker"? Maybe that's it? It doesn't match the part numbers you quote though.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated. I depend on these drawings a lot and it disturbs me I can't read them correctly.

Thanks,

It looks like you're using the euro version of PET which would explain why it only shows parts 22-25 (ROW) and not 12-18 (North American market). Conversely, the North American PET doesn't list 22-25 since those are part numbers for the euro side markers. If that makes sense? And both NA and ROW 944 side markers are called 'direction indicator lights' in PET but the 928's are called 'side marker lights'. Go figure.

Yes, it does sort of make sense in a strange way. Thanks for explaining it. I don't know I can apply it repeatably though since it seems to be some sort of heuristic? It doesn't seem to follow an algorythmic pattern?
