Default Newbie needs help- How to take off factory wheel locks??

Hey guys-

'88 944 with factory wheel locks. I have the keys. The cylinder comes off with the key, and I am left with a round hollow lug. Am I missing another tool to get this off? Help!

A normal lug with out the top on it? once the lock comes off, you should be able to just take the jug nut off like all the others, unless yours is different then the one on my 87. Can you post a picture to make it clear what your talking about?

I had the same problem. Turn 1/4 durn and pull. After they come off, five them a good spray with WD40 or the like.

You mean the casing of the wheel lock is still on the lug nut? Could pull it off, once it's off, it's just like another lug nut, just a little deeper.
If it's stuck on there, Wd-40 or something similar should free it up. On mine, the centers of the wheel locks (where the lock itself is) are broken free from the round casing, this is how I got mine off.

Mike,
As a reference, be carefull about applying heat to the lugs. They are aluminumn. Glad you got them off. It would be difficult if you couldn't!

Be very very careful applying heat.

They become brittle and crack and your going to have a bitch kitty of a time getting them off.

Ask me how I know.

CHECK YOUR NUTS!
