GO!

After searching the board, I coulden't find it. The basic procedure is to remove the rear licence plate lights. Once you have open holes, you have access to the hatch popping mechanism. From there it should be self-explanatory. Use something to pull one of the rods inward and the hatch should pop. This only works if you don't have a center "Porsche" light.

LOL
Before posting this I made sure I had my a$$ covered with a "turbo" center light section...

Haha - but no easy fix if I lock myself out!

My car won't let me lock the keys inside. At least when I use the drivers side door to get out, since you have to use the key to lock that door. If I use the passenger door or hatch to exit the car I guess I could lock the keys in though..

BTW how did you lock your keys in? Are later or turbo models without that protection feature I have? Or has everyone simply bypassed it because its annoying to use the key to lock the door. Or am I missing something else... sorry really late and maybe my mind ain't en par.

I second Baron009 - I really appreciate that the driver's side door on my '86 na is 100% manual so keeps me from blowing it! Mind you, I've spent so long driving inferior cars that I keep a spare key in my back pocket, separate from my regular key ring that goes in my side pocket ...

Thanks for posting the trick though - some day I may double-goof.

I cant recall ever having a car (non-domestic) that would allow you to lock the keys in it. None of the german cars will aloow you to lock the door without the key or fob. Unless, you are messing around in the passenger side.

When I've locked my keys in my car, they have either been in the ignition or in the hatch area. Not too hard to do the latter.
