I want to install valve extensions on a dual rear wheel set up. Any opinions on the bent brass 180s vs. the flexible stainless hose types that need to be clipped/bolted to the wheel? Thanks guys.

You keep bolting up your wheels without the access window lined up....?

I have used 'em both, the flex with the clip works fine but the electrical bucket trucks I have them on never see over 45mph. Not that I think higher speed may dislodge them.

I think I have a brand new set you can have.

I'll post back tomorrow to get your address if you want them.

When it comes to stuff like this, I am 'old school'.

If it's proven to work over decades of time, is simple and virtually trouble free, why mess with it ?

Never heard anyone having an issue with the old brass valve stems; got 'em on all my trucks and never a failure, even on the tandem axle, twin screw drivers pushing thru muddy beet fields with 50,000 lbs of payload.

Thanks for the replies Gentlemen. 951and944s thank you for your generous offer. I bought a pair of brass 180's and then started having second thoughts on them placing strain on the valve stems as they are unsupported. No, I'm not thinking of ripping off two valve stem supports from my FUCHs Another thought is no matter what type I use will they possibly throw the wheel out of balance? If I decide to use the 180's I have, should I use Loctite to keep them from loosening up? These are for my motorhome so speeds should be no more than about 65 max. The paranoid part of my addled brain has me thinking of just using them to add air and then remove them. I know, I'm nuts but I try to live by Chuck Yeager's motto " Never wait for trouble".

These are the ones I have.

The anchor part is heavy like a battery terminal re. weight and balance.

Anyways, you are welcome to the two I have if you want to use this type.

I think they are 30 grams too heavy....

I told Lindsey Racing I wanted these for my 944 and they sent me some for a dually and told me on the phone to mount them anyway even though I told them they would fry my ECU board....!
