Default Selling my 951, input or advice?

I have it up on the local CL right now:
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto...227563924.html

It's been up for 2 weeks now, and I've had only a handful of (serious) inquiries and only 1 guy showed up to see it. I'm wondering what you all think, I'm open to input.

Here's some preemptive answers:
-the wheels were chrome, which I dislike, and that's why I dipped them
-when I bought the car, the tach was broken, and my EE friend fixed it for me but he scratched the gauge face in the process, so I made a "turbo" vinyl decal to cover it
-the paint does look good in person. It's original, except the header panel and the passenger door
-I have the batwing, I just keep forgetting to put it on

White is a difficult color to photograph, and you did use shade to take some of the pictures, but I would go out and get a bunch of new pictures and eliminate the ones in direct sunlight, the car just gets washed out in those pictures.

Aside from that, it looks like a nice car at a fair price. Selling these cars is often a waiting game unless you price way under the market. Is it listed anywhere other than CL?

Looks like a good car, and there's nothing in your ad that would scare me away.

You probably need national exposure - perhaps Bring a Trailer, eBay, or Autotrader?

EDIT - Take a picture of the engine bay. This is something I'm always looking for.

That car would bring $10k easy on BaT and quite possibly several thousand dollars more.

This - put it on Ebay and BaT. The car has some shortcomings (just cosmetics), but mechanically it's right, and mechanics is what determines most of the money with these cars. When you list it on Ebay and other national sites, provide lots more pics than in your CL ad (detailed interior that clearly shows the dash, engine bay, etc.).

Great points. I'll take a new batch of pictures this weekend for putting it up on ebay and submitting to BaT.

Awesome, thanks guys!

Submit to BaT before listing on ebay, BaT has a thing, they like to be the first place a car has been listed.

And the one thing that BaT might get hung up on, is reserve price. So give them your bottom number, and if they reject the car go with an alternative route and then stick to your price there.

Looks like a lot of car for 10K. Very similar to my 87 including the exterior color and chrome Cup2 wheels. You might try advertising in Pano if you're a PCA member. That's how I found mine and paid $14K three years ago.

Oh, that's you! I saw that car and have been on the look out for a white/blk one, though an S or 89 would be ideal. I'll PM you...

AC not working might not be a big deal in Cali -- apart from that looks clean, honest, recently serviced and fairly priced. Maybe spec what the other available wheels are?

I'm thinking you'll need some patience as there is a limited market for these cars--you have nice weather year round in CA so timing shouldn't be an issue, just be patient. Also if it doesn't move you can always list it on eBay or BaT as others have suggested.

Fixing and recharging with R12 (or converting to R134) can be done in a weekend...
No problem for our dear friend Tom if he pulls the trigger..

I too would suggest BAT. Use their Search feature to see what other 944 Turbos have done and you can get a feel as to your reserve, etc. One sold yesterday for $22K but it was very nice.

No offense but I would read the articles linked below and then redo all your photos. Get out early or late in the day. When you shoot the car in the shade with bright sunlight in the background, the camera gets confused.

https://newhillgarage.com/2017/08/07...r-photo-shoot/

That said, I'm a little surprised you haven't had more interest. The only thing I can think of is that when I lived in SLO, keeping abreast of Craigslist in the bay area and LA could be a full time job. There are just so many ads!

BTW Roger at 928srus has cans of R12 for sale. Totally legal. But the AC could be a rabbit hole. On my 928 I wound up replacing all the Orings (no parts cost but a lot of my labor) and also had to replace the compressor due to a small leak at the shaft seal. And a new dryer. And you need a quality vacuum pump. Etc. Etc. But AC is very important to a lot of people who don't live in such a mild climate as yours!
