Looks like we can get back the regularly schedule program.

Car is back up and running with the fresh timing belt and water pump. Looks like I need to diagnose a couple of electrical issues before I can register the car / get it inspected. Hoping they are relay related, but it could be something else in the wiring.

Euro rear bumper arrived yesterday, and I think I am close on souring the 924 turbo header panel. Piece by piece we will get there.

So with the speaker hole free door panels, and now a sun roof delete slick top, it looks like this car might end up with more of a club sport feel to it.

looks like a cool project; too bad it's not red! I've thought many times about building one of these.

I'm a sucker for factory hot rods (see my signature). I say strip your 924 out, put in a rollcage, and make it as minimally street legal as possible No radio, no a/c, no carpet, manual steering, etc etc

I was thinking about color the other day, when the car gets a full re-spray (could be a few years out) maybe a color change could happen. But if that was the case it wouldn't be red, looks great on the CGTs, but not what I am after.

As for stripping the car down. That is sort of the plan.

Think I've seen that roof before...it was on the shores of Lake Norman at a fellow listers house.

Jay,

This roof seems to be making the rounds, but I hope it doesn't get traded around any more, and we can see it back on the roof of my project before too long.

[QUOTE=Gawernator;14389728]924 Turbo header panel with vents

Hey dude, I have these and no longer own a 944. Just been lying around in the garage for a few years.

I need one of these if it's available.

Steve,

The parts Gawernator had are on their way to me. Another items off the list of parts I need, but a lot of stuff still to go.

Not enough hardware to replace ever nut and bolt on the car, but a good start:

Sourced some fenders, and cookie cutters as temp rolling stock. The parts accumulation is slowly happening on this one.

Had a little time today so I started mocking up the 944 fenders on the 924. And then I decided to strip the old clear coat off the cookie cutters and see if the lips could be polished out. The cookies won't be the long term solution, but no harm in making them look a bit better.

Update the for sale / want to buy list on the first page.

I think I am the point where I am ready to order the replica body pieces, hopeful to have the body roughed in by the end of the year / start of 2018.

Big day in the CGT project, all the body panels have been sourced / ordered. Hope to have the body in roughed in form by the end of the year.

Great project. I've always wanted to do this to a 924, never knew all the detail involved.

I have this Porsche book that I've had since I was a kid, must be about 35 years now, and it has a picture of a 924 CGT, which I always though was one of the coolest looking cars. Love the hood scoop.
