Does anyone know if the '84 N/A was prewired at the factory for power seats? I making a seat swap and placing power seats in place of manual sport seats....

No, there were no powered seats available in the "early model" cars.

...why would you make that swap? Manual sport seats are the most coveted, comfortable seats ever fitted to a 944. Power seats are heavy and only work for people who are 5'0 or less...

My '84 unmolested 944 N/A sport seats are in deplorable condition, I wanted to buy some seats to put in the car to be able to drive while my original seats get recovered, 4-6 weeks

Boom. Just saved you a couple hundred bucks. It's not like you're going to survive if you crash in an '84 anyway.

could you get by just having one seat covered at a time?
drop off the passenger seat, have it fixed, then drop off driver seat and put fresh PS in DS position...

save the money of buying another set of seats and having to deal with them when youre done.

Visit my threads on the pad placement and mods required for putting late model seats into an early car. You will also need to put another power access to power up the seats if they require that. I bought a 4 panel VW fuse block from JBugs to install at another location. It uses the same early style fuses as the Porsche..I will probably only use two of the fuse postions, and the other two are for other stuff down the line..maybe..Depends on how you "fix" the seat mounts.

My '84 was converted to have late seats. My car is already kind of a bastard so I wasn't going for originality, I just wanted it to work, so I ran a power wire right to the battery, and put an inline fuse at the end of the wire near the battery. Quick, easy, done. And if you are careful with routing it through the firewall, it can be reversible.
