Talking Ordered a 2004 Mini Cooper S today!

My wife and I went today and ordered a 2004 Mini Cooper S. We can't wait to pick it up! We almost bought one about 6 months ago but weren't sure if we wanted a car payment. We had a great time giving the test car hell today. They are really quick little cars. The candidates were, VW GTI, 1.8T Beetle Convt. or the Mini. The Mini won hands down. I even did a hand brake 180* turn with it. Our Mini won't be built until Feb so we have a little time to decide on the color. We have to have our final decision in, in about 2 weeks. Here are all the options that we bought...

Sport package
Premium Package
Cold weather package
Harmon and Kardon Stereo
Sport Steering wheel option
Rear fog light

Pretty much everything except the Navigation system (I can read a map)

Here are the two colors that we are trying to decide on...

In this picture I can't tell if the wheels are white or not, if we get this color combo we will get white wheels.

Or this Color combo, Indi Blue with white stripes and white top...(not the best pic)

Droool, I want one so bad I can taste it. I would definatly go for that color combo, and the only other option I'd want that is not one your list is the tuner package with the bigger supercharger and better heat, etc.

That package is $4500 for 32 more HP. Not worth it for me but it would be fun!

One of my professors has one (also has a 70's 911 too). Seems like a fun little car, and if someone who has tracked a 911 for years likes it it must be a pretty capable car.

I like this paint sceme:

If you get a car w/a white top, you have to get the white wheels. If you get one w/white wheels, you have to clean them all the time...

I've had my dark silver Mini S for about 6 months, love it. Great little car. I never drive it though, any one interested?

Ask the dealer if the girls come with the car and how much??? I want one of them... those seem like they would be a fun time just to mess around with... I would go with the blue. Blue is my favorite color and I just think they look aggressive in blue. nice job!

Man, I hate the mini coopers, but only because they fly by me on the track! you are sittin there in your Porsche, thinking "yeah, I'm a badass" and the next thing ya know, when you're nearing the end of the straight, you look in your mirror and the cooper is halfway down and gainin fast. Then as you turn the corner, it passes you.

Either it's the car, or that guy REALLY knows how to drive. I do know that he upgraded the brakes, had racing tyres, and put a different pully on the super.

You can get a smaller pulley for the supercharger.

Michael, that's good news. I remember how much you guys liked the Mini when you test drove it several months back.

I assume you saw the recent remake of the move "The Italian Job"? Great Mini scenes in there. Particularly fun how they hop them up at an L.A. go-fast shop...

As for color, if it were me, I would definitely get it in British Racing Green, white top/mirrors, silver alloy wheels.

I had an original mini early in my driving career and a wheel fell off at speed. Actually the rim collapsed. I hope the new mini is better than the old one...

signed - good cheer

dude, you have to get the works package. just try to get 32 reliable hp out of a 1.6 liter engine. AND it's still under the bulletproof BMW warranty. if you just switch to a smaller pulley, you still have to rework the fuel system. i believe that $4500 also includes suspension upgrades as well. now, $4500 seems like a damn bargain. come on, interest rates are too good right now not to take advantage . . . works, works, works, works . . .
