Default Value of a 72 2.0 in fair shape?

Don't know much about it yet. It's a running car with decent body in the pics. Needs int, brake and shock work. Has Webers, no FI. Glass, lights, top, tires, wheels, trim pretty much all there, just tatty.

I haven't owned a 914 for 20 years, so I'm out of my depth. Will get more info tomorrow on rust situation.

Yes, the seller says not the original engine. Not sure if it's a 1.8 or a 2.0. Any idea on value? Anyone? Bueller?

Way too many variables based on what you said. It could be a $1000 car or it could be a $5k car. How is the battery tray, suspension mount, longitudinals? Is the interior dirty or torn? The stuff you said is there is just the stuff that doesn't rust, so it doesn't really matter.

And it was originally a 1.7 liter car.

It's too far away for me to go look at. I'll just have to take some money and wing it.

Just spoke to the seller, it's been sitting for 9 years in a small garage. Paint was done before it got put up, and there is minimal rust underneath. The engine is a 2.0 from a builder in CA, it shifts and the clutch works ok. Most of the work is in the int and dash which has a lot of wiring loose. The lights all work except the flashers. I'm gonna go get it next week if he doesn't sell it to a local guy. Looks like ~$2k is pretty close in value if the paint is ok.

Judging from the photos it's an early 72 with the fixed passenger seat. If there is no rust and the interior isn't trashed, 2k is probably OK. Ed Mayo is in that area and would be a good shop to look at it.

Mustard Racing has lots of 914 experience - ask for Joe.
