I'm playing around at the various Scottsdale auctions this week so the son is maning the fort so to speak. We'll hit it hard when I get back to frozen tundra later... but gotta get that thing done so I can bring it down here!!! (only problem is heat, as I would be freezing if I was driving it here- I'm not putting heat in it and it's been COLD down here!! Below freezing the last few nights which is unusual here. One of my formers partners lives down here about 3 miles from us and had pipes freeze last night!! Never seen it this cold since he moved from Iowa 12 years ago!!)

Got the brake lines and fuel lines all cleaned out thru the tunnel, cleaned up the front sway bar and fittings, started painting the front suspension pieces, getting ready for the new shocks and bushings on the way...
Put rear bumper on just after this picture just because I wanted to see it on the car!
Snowing like hell outside...
Slow but sure...

Nice work. Putting the interior back is so much work.

Quite the production taking out and replacing rear trailing arm bushings and bearings. After a trip to HF for a cheap 12 ton press after much stress we got the damned hubs out and of course a bearing race came out with them

Got the old bearings out and after using a small bottle of gas for the torch we pushed out the old bushings and shaft- damned that rubber smells!! It's snowing outside here (someone forgot to tell the weatherman it's supposed to be spring) so might as well be working inside...

Now need to push what's left of the bearings off the hub shafts!!!!

Off to AZ next weekend to escape this weather for a while- gonna go to Fontana for the big Zone 8 race weekend to watch. Should be fun. My younger son may take his Boss 302 for the time trials!

Looks amazing! What material did you use on the seats? Sorry if you already posted this information.

Seat centers are gray alcantara- didn't want black as the car will spend most of its life in AZ. They turned out great!

That's going to be one very special car! I need to find a buyer for mine who simply wants one to put a decent paint job on and drive!

What is going to make this car is the engine lid I cant wait to get that piece on...its a work of art!

Then, we just need to get around to dropped a 2.7 or 3.2 in it.....hint hint.

Can I get a couple of pics of the rear decklid shock mounts you have? I've seen that before and really hate the stock setup. Would love the simplicity of hood shocks and not those silly arms and springs.

It is a kit I got many years ago for both cars and yes I love gettting rid of the stock system. Only downside is you do have to drill two holes in each channel to hold the brackets...
I can't remember who sold the kit but assume it's still available somewhere. You might search over at 914world I'm sure someone there knows. The struts themselves are generic. Hope that helps.
I recently saw something about a similiar kit for the front hood which gets rid of the big springs...

( I see you're from Wilmington- my son and I flew there a few years ago to pick up a Cayman S he bought there to drive home to Iowa...)

That wasn't Pat's Greaney's silver Cayman was it? He lived in Jacsonville? I think his went out that way and I actually happened to run into the new driver while out in my Speedster. He was leaving town the next day from Carolina Beach.

Could you post pics of your decklid holders?

I think Ed Viela made the orginal kits and they have been done a couple of times sense by different people. Not sure who does them now, if at all.

No, it was Brad Ludes who only owned it for a few months before I picked it up from him. Was barely broken in!
