Some work on engine today. Got the blower assym on with new belt etc and then remembered had to put the front sheet metal on first, so off it came, sheet metal on and blower assym back on. It's starting to look like a type IV again...

NO KIDDING Matt! A big jigsaw puzzle ahead of me but can't wait!! Luckily I have my silver one next to it to use as a pattern or template. Really handy- I remember way back when my dad had his '71- we could also use the other car to help figure out how something went back on etc. Also was interesting as my car was a very early '71 with interior vinyl etc that looked like the '70 version and my dad's was a late '71. The vinyl on the doors and over the interior was completely different though they were the same year. Imagine that would drive a concours judge crazy as originality would be VERY difficult to judge.

If you need help putting the engine in, Romanowski has taken the engine in and out of his car so many times he can do it now in about 25 minutes.

I've had just about all of my car apart, except for the dash. By far, the worst part was the vent controls behind the gas tank. Everything else wasn't too bad.

I think it sounds like Matt is willing to fly to Iowa to help if you buy him a ticket.

Just got the seats back from upholstery shop- new light grey alcantara inserts!! Look great and will feel a LOT better in the Az sun than black vinyl!!! Waiting for latest update on the paint- jams and trunks, insides of lids etc done... final priming and sanding was done a week ago on the body so it should be getting some paint on the outside!
