Good to hear it's up to full driver status. You also listed one heck of a supplier list there. Good folks for sure.

And you and the other good folks here on Rennlist saved me, I'm sure, many hours of research and phone calls trying to locate your solid referrals on my own. You eliminated the doubt and anxiety of dealing with unknowns, and that is priceless.

Happy New Year!

Thanks, Whale! I'm trying to understand why it's three pieces...do those backpads actually dis-assemble?

Another piece of good news; I set the fuel mixture for my new/old Air Flow Meter, and now have a perfect idle, and wonderfully smooth performance through the entire rev range - cold and hot. Now I'm waiting for it to get over 40F in the garage so I can paint my engine lid grille and re-assemble those parts.

Speaking of engine lids, have any of you out there that might read this have a template or photo for the correct position for the P-O-R-S-C-H-E letters that fit on the grille?

I asked myself the same question. I'd assumed they're one piece. I suppose one could dig though PET, but I wasn't quit sure what I was looking at. My Ebay search was for "porsche seats". I'm looking for some seats for the 924. Stock (black)script seats would be fine, sport seats would be better, and a decent set of Recaros would be champion...all on the cheap. My search continues.
I'm glad the 914 is running like it should. I have no clue about the PORS... placement. I suppose the Factory manuals would be the best place to look if you had access to them, then again...maybe not.
The individual letters are getting rare, no? A buddy was into old Fords for a long time and always commented on how hard it was to find the "T" in mustang. Good luck and keep us posted.
Happy 2012 to everybody too.

These guys offer replacement back pad "cores". You may have visited this already Peter. However, they state that it is a three piece unit??? Is this the factory configuration?? I don't know myself.

Well, after much deliberation, as well as the fact that I can't go anywhere with both my wife and our youngest son, I've listed the car on the Rennlist "For Sale" forum. Yes, the approximately 3/4" thick file, and a few DVDs of along-the-way photos, are included. Oh, well...

We'll see how it goes. The car only had, until yesterday, one small oil leak. The o-ring for the insert that secures the speedo cable angle drive was hard as a rock, and sweated a little oil after every drive. That's now fixed, the engine lid grille is painted, and because I don't know where the gold P-O-R-S-C-H-E letters go, I'm going to re-install the engine lid without them. BTW; the car is running wonderful!

I have photos of exactly where the letters go with measurements. I'm traveling all week, but next week, if you remind me, I can send them to you.

Hey, Matt; is it next week yet?

Seriously, if you have a chance, please forward to me the installed dimensions for the P-O-R-S-C-H-E letters on the engine lid grille. It looks good without them (my car has the reflector kit), but the lid looks kinda naked.
