when you ask truly, are you asking if these are OEM 904 mainshafts? If that is your question then no these are not OEM shafts, however, these are made of the highest quality steel, 300M and are perfect. I am sure that no one will have any issues with these. I know that in the past there have been some on the market that did not work out so well, you will not have similar issues with these.

Let me know if you are in need of one.

Warmest Regards,

I have read about 904 shafts but what is the main difference from just a 901? How much power can these really take? Or is it worth it to upgrade a 915 trans to the mid engine instead?

The biggest thing is it allows you to change 2nd gear...

These are very stong mainshafts, they are made of 300M steel and should be very durable. It really all depends on what kind of HP you are talking about though. If you are going to be getting up to the 300 Mark, then I might recommend the 915 upgrade, but if not then I think that your current setup with the 904 and some upgraded gearing might actually be less expensive for you.

Let me know if you would like to chat about this a bit more.

Thanks

I am going to run a 993 engine. I have two side shift transmissions that I was going to rebuild with the upgraded intermediate plate, change the gearing and install a limited slip. I was planning on running one until it broke, then just use the other transmission. I have noticed that about 50% of 914-6 conversions still run the 901, so what the heck. I have also heard of 915 failures just as common on high HP upgrades. BUT I would love to have a bullet proof trans that I would be able to romp on if I wanted to. So Other than a 930 trans, can this be done?

OK, 900 bucks for the shaft. How much for a set of 'H' or 'HA' gears to go along with it?
