$325,000 916

Burning Brakes
low production 914-6 with (among other small variations) roof welded on instead of targa and higher displacement motors. Think there were 12 or so created in total. One of the rarest production porsches.

About a dozen were built. Built from 914-6's. Most were built with a 2.4S motor. A few were also built with 2.7S motors. 7" fuchs all around. Flares front and rear. Special front and rear bumpers. Front oil cooler. Welded on roof. Special "upscale" interiors (ie leather). Cost about $14,000US in the day (A 911S was also this much $$). Never federalized for US consumption. R&T had one on their cover in Feb '72 (iirc) It was Peter Gregg's car (Peter Gregg of Brumos fame). They were the "template" for every one who ever modded a 914 for more power.
If a CGT is a top of the line mid-engine Porsche of today then YES, a 916 was its equivalant. Plus, they aren't making anymore of them so their value will only climb. $325K is a bit steep imho
