Bought a 914 at auction that had an engine fire. I owned one as a kid and really loved that car. My son is 15 and it looks like a great father son project. I'm soo excighted I can hardly keep it a secret until christmas.
Anyhow, the damage was limited to the top of the engine, relay box is gone, probably need a new wiring harness, but the real question I have is, go back to stock or put some carbs on it? Since the injection system is gone the expense of going back to stock my outweigh just going to a quad 40 delorto setup.
Any thoughts / concerns?

Best help you'll get (overwhelming help) is on the 914club forum. Go to www.914club.com. There are an extremely active group for 914's.

I'm leaning toward a 40 webber set up, but thank you. I will probably need a bunch of stuff. Right now the car is in storage for christmas (father-son project). But I'm sure that I have a big shopping list in January.
