I was offered the black/yellow or the ivory/orange LE in 1974, new at the dealer. I couldn't get into the 2 color theme, so I drove off in a black 2.0 appearance group. I must say that these have grown on me...and your LE creamsicle is Tight !
It might be cool to return it to a original bumble bee
Yea, that's not happening under my ownership. I built it just the way I wanted it and it's very not stock, so not trying to preserve originality. It won a 2nd and 3rd place at a couple 914 events, so others seem to like it this way too.
Yes you updates do look great like the mirrors as well as the wheels .see the engine is not stock how much power does it put out.
Thanks. I've never had it dyno'd but imagine it's around 150 HP. It has dual 45mm carbs, is a 2.1 L, has big 38x48 mm valve heads, and updraded cam, auxiliary oil cooler, Nology power core coil booster and plug wires, Pertronix Ignition, Bosch 050 distributor, and probably some other stuff I don't recall off the top of my head as I did the build back in 2001.
Agree a 4 post lift is awesome. Mine is custom so narrow enough for the 914 but wide enough to store the wakeboard boat trailer on. Also makes dropping the engine much easier.
