Just for giggles, did you do your fuel economy?

I ask because my '74 got insane gas mileage above 72 mph in fifth. It was well North of 30 IIRC.

And you were driving downhill.

That's funny. Even with my modified engine, when I go to a car show with a couple of buddies that have small block chevys in their hot rods, they have to stop for gas twice on the 5 hour trip and I can go straight through. That's running about 80 most of the way.

This story may be getting better with age, but way back when I did a mini cannonball run up I-5 from LA to SF and averaged over 80 mph, don't recall stopping for gas (did have to make a pit stop at a rest station), and got like 34 mpg. A good 914 is a joy.

Hi Darin,

Congrats!
I bought a 73 2.0 liter a few years ago and have a blast driving it around the hills. Fun AX car as well
Now you need to start making some 914 parts for it!
I still have your mufflers on my 993TT!
Best regards,
Hal
