Default Its been awhile...but now its done!

Mostly been hanging out at the 914world forums the last few years. Before that I was a Rennlist addict when I had my 964.

Well my restoration is done so here she is...

Its been a looong restoration with many setbacks, re'dos and the budget is well....gone.
But driving it and being able to take to a show or just picking the favorite child of the day and going for icecream feels great.

Its not completely done however, seats need redoing and lately the gearbox has started making a whining noise.

The newly build engine feels great and pulls strong and the Scart muffler sounds amazing....

Cant get the embeddning of the video to work so just use the link.

I like the Martini stripes... and prefer the 5 spoke wheels (forget the proper Porsche name for them).

Why did you offset the stripes rather than have them down the middle?

(you'll find the 914 forum here pretty dead compared to other models at rennlist- 914 world much busier)

Yes the Cookie Cutter wheels will be the ones I use but I have an annoying balance issue that seems to be needing the tires to come off to get fixed. I'll have to refurbish the wheels this coming winter so in the meantime the RW Mesh wheels are on the car for now.

I tried the stripes down the middle but naah, it just didnt feel right. I decided on the Martini stripes well before the 918 came out with them and before everyone and their mother put them on their 997's and whatnot. The offset stripes gives the car a more "70's club racer" feel which I like.

Congratulations - the car looks great and it's such a sense of accomplishment when you get one of these projects finished up and are driving it down the road with most everything working correctly and looking good.

I was watching your build on 914world. Coincidentally, I saw your thread there right as I was re-assembling mine; I certainly got some motivation seeing your progress.
