Default 912 question for the experts...

In the 1960's did they make any sort of convertible or removable hard top to full convertible 912? Personally I don't recall any 911/912 that was convertible till 1983. I will defer to the experts here, thanks..

in 67,68, and very rare in 69 they had the soft window targa. the rear window was a soft plastic clear window that could be removed. but regardless, you still had the targa bar to contend with.... no full vert.

this can give you an idea of the options you have with a soft window targa. to be honest.. i would give my left nut for bahama yellow 1967 soft window targa.. best year, best color, best type of targa.. and its a swb car.

this is the car.. bahama yellow, 67 swt

theres also a red swt on ebay right now.

now, some *** holes have replaced the soft window with a hard window over the years. (instead of replacing their tired soft window with a new soft window), and some have taken targas.. gut off the targa bar, and make 912 spyders or 912 convertables or speedsters or what have you. personally i dont like em.

but no, there was never a convertable

very very very few soft windows were made in 69.. i only know of a few. so its most likely a hard window.

this one, if its the one i think it is, is an excellent one, owned by jeff trask, president of the 912 registry. and if it is his, its worth that much and more. im not 100% sure its his though... but if it is... drool... god i wish i had 15k...

A fellow Rennlister made the animated gif of my car for me... it's really cool!
