Do you have a history with any of the local dealers? What kind of information are you looking for?

I'm fairly confident that if you drove up in your car [registration would help your cause but probably not necessary] and spoke with the service manager, he/she would be happy to provide you the options list [if your car no longer retains the original sticker] and any maintenance history logged in the Porsche archives.

What exactly do you mean by "dealer info"?

Appreciate the replies guys. I have a friend at a local shop. I will provide him the vin. The last service record I have was from 2003 from the local dealer in Nanuet NY.

The information I am looking for is basic service history, options, original color exterior / interior.

I do know it sat for at least 8 years.....but that does leave a few years unaccounted for.
Last service record shows 48000 miles. Odometer reads 49400 now.

Found out some disappointed news today....all the original rear panels , seats, seat belts, heater and AC parts and original rear bumper were thrown away.

I will place a WTB on the classifieds for rear seats, 88 rear panel and 3 pt seat belts. Hope I can find those...also need sun visors.

Default Making some progress......

Car has been disassembled- sanded and prepped for primer. No rust which is really a good sign. Trying to choose color for ext / int. since this is my dream car, I am. Less concerned about original status...car was black metallic on cork....not passionate about it.

My short list is Stone Gray Metallic on Burgandy or Meteor Gray Metallic on a medium brown saddle.

I like a charcoal metallic that shows colors in the sunlight...partial to the darker one....but not sure if it's meteor, slate or something else even .

I am a big fan of charcoal metallic type colors and they look very classy on these cars!...I have seen Meteor and it looks great! I am not sure about the color code.

This Turbo that you link to on the Canepa site was my car that Bruce bought from me a few months ago.

This car has its original window sticker which states that this is a "Paint to Sample" color. Unfortunately, it does not state what color it actually is.

Baron it looks like this which was the color of my 81sc. They called it black metallic but it was not really that dark.

Black Metallic is such a great color. If it were White or Guards Red, I'd probably go elsewhere, but with such a cool and rare color, seems like a great choice.

I appreciate the advice guys. I will ask the shop to give me the color code. I think the color of mine looks more brown in sunlight than gray and definitely black most of the time....so Schwartz is not a big move from original ....I have been advised to leave the car as close to original as possible. That being Black Metallic on cork.

As a final request....because I am a schizophrenic indecisive color challenged nut ....

I have spent the last 4 days ( literally 24/7 looking at 911 interiors on line).

this combo below has always evoked 930 envy/passion for me....and is a VERY SAFE WAY TO GO......

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-930-...US_Cars_Trucks

I ordered the black carpet from lakewell.....so my choices are probably limited. Cork is not a favorite...I love Carrera red, lobster red is a bit much??. Browns and terracotta seem to modern and not period correct. Linen and parchment could be too light....

My short list is red on black carpet, cork on black or black on black with some white stitch accents.

Naturally the color choice is to complement dark charcoal /Schwartz.....
