Default My 86 runs rough on cold start, help!

It will eventually shut off unless I play with the throttle. Once its warms up it runs like a top, but I would like to just start her up and drive away. After doing a few searches here on the topic it seems as though the most common problem is the isv or iac valve(I'm assuming its same part) and the temp 2 sensor. Can someone advise exactly where these parts are located, please be specific as i am not that mechanically inclined. Would also like part numbers if possible.

TIA

My '86 911 ran rough after warm up which turned out to be the 02 sensor. I've heard other people mention the ICV (idle control valve) for cold start issues. You can find the picture of the part on Pelican and you can't miss the location if you open you engine compartment. Right in the middle of the engine toward the top.

You mentioned your can ran rough after warmup, that would be the opposite problem I'm having. Once warm she drives great.

Make sure your warm up regulator is functioning properly.

I don't believe your car has an actual ISV or IAC.

I would look to the AAR or, as Chris said, the WUR, which controls cold/warm fuel pressures.

On second thought, your issue could also be due to a faulty CSV [cold start valve], 930.606.107.01, mounted to the back of the intake manifold, right below the throttle body.

I was under the belief the WUR needs to be adjusted for the ambient temps. If adjusted for cooler weather it runs like crap in warm weather and vice versa.
