Post ARP or RaceWare? Rod bolts and Head studs

I need to get will be purchasing new rod bolts and Head studs in the near future. I have used RaceWare studs on a few other engines and was very pleased. I would appreciate any recommendations: Stock, Raceware or ARP, etc.

Thanks
Justin

Raceware for sure. The proprietor recently posted a very comprehensive explanation of why his product is the only true option, perhaps a search will lead you to this info.

can you give us some more infos?
I I check both websites teh ARO web site is much more technical and explain why their stuff better is. The yuse many different alloys etc etc. I downloaded the whole catalog and It looks everything very good. I bought a set for my 951 and a friend of mine did the same. I do not know how good they are in a 911 but the one I got looks very high tech and the engine builder said the same.

Both ARP and Raceware make very high quality components. You can't go wrong with either of them and they are far better than stock. I would use ARP 2000 rod bolts for sure. One of the differences between the ARP and Raceware head studs is that ARP uses a 1.25 thread pitch while Raceware uses a 1.5 thread pitch.

If I recall correctly, our Raceware guy's main argument against using ARP was: ARP is used in Chevy's quite a bit, therefore we Porsche guys should avoid using such a tainted product. I was listening up until that point. I've always been quite happy with ARP 2000 head studs (but when I learned that Chevy guys like them too, well that's it -- never again).

Is there any benefit to having one thread pitch over another?

Regular OE Porsche steel studs are good too. And cheaper.

Hi Justin:

FWIW,.....we use steel factory studs, Raceware ones, and ARP 2000 rod bolts in all of the race motors that we build here.

Never any problems whatsoever, and some of these poor things get really abused,.....

I just got off the phone with the ARP guys. They did not have a head stud kit listd for the 930. They did have one for the 911. Are the studs the same? Their prices are far better than Raceware if the hardware is comparable. One thing I noticed was that the prices I was given included appropriate nuts and washers. Raceware sells these separately. Any comments or advice are welcome.

Check EBS Racing Website. They sell ARP and the complete 930 headstud kit is only $425. This includes that studs, washers and fasteners.

Both brands are superior than stock and as good, I'm with ARP rod bolts and Raceware head stud kit.
