Do the lips on your rims have a different cross section than Pete's, or is the lighting just playing tricks?

When you have a minute, would you please measure the diameter of your rim centers...just the part painted black? Is it the same, front and rear?

additional pictures of my car as asked. I do love the wheels and again would say that the quality and detail is second to none!

Pete, is that double-step lip the standard construction/configuration?

In other threads, I've also seen references to a J-lip. How does that differ from a stepped lip?

The stepped lip is the same as what is also be referenced as "J". It provides a slightly tougher wheel edge in case you scrub the curb or track the car...but it does not look like the original stock Fuchs look. You can also order your 17" Zuchs (Fikse/Fuchs/Zuff....) with stock appearing lip.

The stock lip would look more like the picture below. You call Fikse and they can explain everything.

I was on the phone w/ Alan of Fikse earlier today on this

the "J-lip" refers to the bead - an OE Fuchs wheel has none, it has a "soft lip" that just bleeds gracefully into the wheel

the "J-lip" has a traditional 'edge' that protrudes

the "double-step" of the barrel is just the design of the Fikse Fuchs, regardless of the lip choice - and IMO is a superior aesthetic to Lindsay's version with the 16" OE Fuchs centers (these utilize bespoke... er... spokes) which appear to be more of a triple-step

(please correct me if I'm wrong)

If my eye is right, Pete's are soft and Igooz's are J maybe?

to get these to be as "true" to an OE Fuchs set, you're talking:

soft lips (vs. J) @ +$150/wheel
anodized (vs. polished) @ +$100/wheel

that's on top of $870 F / $970 R if I recall correctly, +$260 shipping, no tax / duty

Alan was VERY helpful, accommodating, and friendly. He had himself an '87 930 w/ 350whp years ago so he's also quite well versed.

they can make them to whatever spec you want (early / late hubs, spacers, no spacers, etc.)

Alan is very helpful. I am thinking about buying some 19" Profil 10 from him for a 7TT.

Paul,

You are correct. My wheels have the standard factory style lip.

Sorry, I misread "10" when I replied... my bad.

I've got 18" Profil 5 in 993C4S fitment, 9s /11s... black anodized spokes / freshly polished lips, new 255/295 RE760s that haven't touched ground yet...

Thanks for the clarification, Paul.

Pete/Igooz, do you recall the dimension/offset of your rims, front and rear?

^mel_t_vin, sorry...I am across the pond and I don't have the back space/offset on the wheels memorized. I will have to pull the wheels off and measure them for you at some point. FYI: I kept the factory 28mm spacer in the rear and you can call Fikse and get the offset from them.

No worries. If you don't have the information written down somewhere, please don't bother pulling your rims. That's too much trouble...besides, she's probably still in winter hibernation.

BTW, I was going to ask whether or not you kept the factory spacer. When I eventually go down this road, I plan to keep it in place, as well. In any case, I'll just give the folks at Fikse a call.

Safe travels.

^Check out the thread below, PM me if any Q's.
https://rennlist.com/forums/911-turb...eels-help.html

Last count I had found around 7-8 different sources to get a Fuchs repro...I posted all of them here at one time...

My requirements were: I wanted "new", "17" diameter, custom backspace, forged, and made some place that I had confidence in the product quality. I landed on Fikse which had bought the rights, etc. These are 3 piece and fairly lightweight. You can call Alan (+1) 604-533-7318 (** I am not buying or selling or associated with these guys). PM me if any Q's.

PS: I see that you are in the UK...I spend a week a month there. You guys have some great car people and culture! I checked out of the Grosevnor hotel this morning...over-rated!
