Default THERMAL REACTORS

Over the past few years I keep seeing a reoccuring theme about CA demanding Thermal Reactors be put back on the older Porsches. Owners, buyers, sellers now need them.

When these were available from the dealer the MSRP was $927.00 per side or $1,854 per pair(part #930.113.150.01) same part number for both sides. OUCH

Einmalig in Huntington Beach (888.777.6772) has them available for $600 per pair.

I purchased a set recently from Brian @ Einmalig for $540 (10% savings) and they are in beautiful condition.

If you call, tell him that Chuck from Rennlist referred you and he'll honor that price......He'll probably give you a bunch of **** for saying that you know me

I don't know how this price compares, but Einmalig has always provided me with fair prices, GREAT service and is nice to work with if something isn't right.

Best of luck

So the question the $60 question is- is it worth admitting we know Baron to save $60.

In Cali upon Dmv registration the smog certification is required, any and all cars.
'75 and older cars are exempt thereafter from smog checks during ownership. '76 and newer cars get smog checked every two years thereafter. Since Cali dealers are subject to strict following of the vehicle code, the thermal reactors (t/r) need to be on the car. Private Sellers have more wiggle room, as they are not watched like established dealerships. If a t/r era 930 does happen to slip through the system with a set of t/r replacement headers (usually sold as off-road parts), it just goes undetected.
A well built set of T304 stainless steel t/r replacement headers, air injection with a good clean air inj. pump filter, will fly through the smog test. Coupled with a good hot turbo, it will test as good or better than with the oe t/r equipment. Technicians that run the smog check have usually never seen a t/r...so the Shorty t/r replacement header is a shoe in. Anyone buying an early t/r 930 should expect to see the t/r units supplied in the deal. Due to the damaging heat soak that the t/r causes on the 930 engine,
I wouldn't run these for more than a few blocks.

Hey for $60 I can get the whole cow. Right now I can walk into my back yard and just shoot something to eat.
