930 itch needs scratching

Tell me about it! Still on the hunt though. I'm ready to do this thing, just need to find the right car.
I've been watching the red '87 and '89 on eBay. Further, I am checking Pelican, Rennlist, and saved queries for eBay and Autotrader I check about a dozen times a day.

Bobby, many of us with the itch, but the prices are really up there, am looking at 1988 to 1998, the 993's with close to 100k miles are in the 30 to 40k, S on the 55 to 60k, that is high for cars that will need between 5 and 10k to have suspension and other thinks updated. There are low mileage 997S going for 60k.
The itch is the problem, it has no rational.

I have rationalized my itch by realizing that life is short, I work really hard, and driving down country roads with the top down in my air-cooled turbocharged 911 singing along to Steve Winwood's Higher Love is going to be über badass. It's hard to quantify the value of that, but it's alot. I'm probably going to have some ridiculous sunglasses on also. Also, the 930 is the best looking 911 ever made.
That said, I need to buy the car right. Obviously, I want to get the best possible value. I am very hesitant to buy the car from a dealer. I want to talk with the previous owner and know that the car has been loved and cared for.
Further, getting a second Porsche is kinda dumb. I should probably be buying a bigger house, or a fancy 3D TV, or getting a nice shrubbery, or a tattoo, or whatever. But I really don't care about any of that. Right or wrong, I'm a Porsche dude. There are worse things to be, so I ain't losing too much sleep over it.

I thought the same thing about getting another Porsche. I used to have two on hand in case I felt like driving them. Then I got practical two years ago and sold one and spent the money on renovating a house. I sold the other one earlier this year and there was a void in my life. Looked at a 997tt and thought meh, and bought a 77 turbo from a friend. Now that car sits as the value has skyrocketed. I just want a damned Porsche that I can drive. Looking at another turbo as we speak.

Surprisingly, the wife is on board with this one. She had a 996 C4 cab as her daily for a while and has been wanting another convertible ever since we traded it for the GLK.
So, I just need to find the right car.
