Stephen;

What a piece of art! I love the blue. It looks like the '88 Camaro Iroc Blue?

Just wondering.... about how much would this cost to do? i know the old saying, if you have to ask its too much, but i dont even have a 930 (yet) and im just really currious to find out. (if you dont want to post here go ahead and send a pm)

also, how do you learn the skills to do somthing like this!? where do you go to school etc?

thank you for posting those pics.. thats almost as breathtaking as some of the works of the renaissance.. breath taking!

Nice as always. Looking at the engine, it looks like you are still running the CIS, but then there is that map sensor in the middle picture. Also no distributor on the car, did you convert the ignition to an Electromotive HPX?

Actually that is called "candy Moon shadow blue" It was a color that was on my 97 GSXR 750. It is a tri-stage candy and the back stage color on the shroud and fan housing is called Titan. It is near a charcoal color. The car it is going in is blue. I choose a color scheme for each total build depending on the want and personality of the motor. My theory is if the motor looks as good on the inside then the out side should reflect that as well.

We are in deed running boost retard HPX with a map at the control. We have run these ignitions up to 100th gap without issue. The new map retard feature makes the set up almost idiot proof unlike the HPVs from before.

How do you get into something like this???? To be honest I carry a heavy college back ground and a sales/management record to go along with it. My education is obviously in business and I graduated from a little University in Mo. My love has always been cars. Didn't matter what it was I would modify it. I have been accused of even modifying my bowling ball. I bought my first Porsche right out of college, a 1967 911S. Drove it four hours, raced a motorcycle and dropped the tensioner. I couldn't stand the fact that I didn't know what the heck it took to build the motor. My folks always had Porsches so it was somewhat in my blood. I wanted to know what kind of person could look into a bay of a 911 and know what it took to fix it. I learned and I learned from friends and shops. I would buy another piece of junk and drive it, fix it, drive it and fix it until it had been restored from top to bottom including the interior and paint. When I was in my mid 20s I was so burned out of the business world and figured out rather quickly that money doesn't bring happiness I walked out of my regional management position, cut my salary in half and went to turn a wrench professionally. Three years later I entered the business world to finically support my toys, then several years after became heavily involved in Porsche Fans/Porsche List/Rennlist and opened ImagineAuto from a set of cams out of my car. The one thing that sets off what I do is this is something I wanted to do, didn't have to. I want people to know I was there or not know it isn't Porsche's work if so desired. I have owned well over 24 Porsche which 75% had need major work. Bottom line, do what you love, have a desire to learn and never stop learning. This industry changes and moves. So should your point of view and quest to want to learn. Anyone that claims that they know it all or have 50 years on you and that is that is simply burned out and suffers from he "know it all" syndrome. Building motors and becoming a real tuner is an never ending quest.

Sorry about that, I will step down from my soap box. Become passionate about what you do and the rest will follow. <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Mods include all the good stuff! 3.4 7:5:1, ARP hardware, special head work, twin plug, coatings etc. Not dynoed yet, but we have done enough we know about where it will come in. This was as far as we can push the CIS. Builds all depend on present condition etc. A clean up to a big build can be anywhere from 6500.00-18K. It really all depends on desires and needs of the motor as well as the owner.

That would be loctite 574. This is what we use to seal the case. Great stuff!

Loctite is what I used for my rebuilt, not sure if it was a 574 though but the colour looks the same.
